Makeblock mBot Coding Robot Kit (Ages 8–12)

Build an mBot robot, then program it to follow lines and avoid obstacles. This hands-on introduction connects electronics, mechanical assembly, and step-by-step coding using Makeblock’s learning software.

• Subject: Robotics, electronics, and computer programming
• Age level: 8–12, as stated in the source listing
• Format: Makeblock mBot robotics kit; choose mBot Blue, mBot Pink, or mBot Coding Box
• Brand: Makeblock, not a LEGO building set
• Learning tools: mBlock software and Makeblock apps; coding activities progress from Scratch-style programming toward Arduino
• Power: Source listing says the robot requires four AA batteries and the remote requires a CR2025 battery; batteries are not included

Once assembled, try a line-following challenge, then change the code and see how the robot responds. The source listing describes compatibility with some LEGO parts; the mBot itself is made by Makeblock.
